Steamboat Camp 1

A quick update from the NC Team. We started jumping in Steamboat on Monday and have had a great week of training. We have had all types of weather from hot, dry summer weather one day to waking up to an inch of snow and a full on snowstorm the next. The jump in Steamboat has been great and hopefully we get the new magic carpet running to make the hike up a little easier. Thanks to Todd, Martin, and Gary for driving the van in the meantime.

We began our preparation for the upcoming season on March 31st and these guys are about to complete their 11th week of training. During the FIS Congress the rules and formats for NC changed significantly and the rules continue to change as we speak. These changes represent a major overhaul of NC. NC will resemble SJ a lot more in format and structure now as Walter Hofer, the race director for SJ, is now in charge of NC as well. While nothing is final yet, NC as we know it will be significantly different next season.

Our plans now are to finish jumping today in Steamboat go back to PC for a couple weeks and return to Steamboat for another week before the 4th of July. During this camp we will conduct our first junior camp in conjunction with our USST training camp. Selected juniors and their coaches will join us for our camp in Steamboat for our first of three junior camps this summer.
